FACT: Air Conditioning systems can only cool interiors to 20 degrees below the outside temperature. This is by design, as cooling interiors more than 20 degrees below the outside temperature would require air coming from the vent to between 20 to 30 degrees causing the AC system to run constantly.

- Leave your AC set between 75 and 78 degrees. The US Department of Energy recommends this setting to maximize use of the AC system and to keep the unit from working too hard.
